Monterey nabs 'Keyhole'

Monterey Media has acquired U.S. privileges to Guy Maddin's haunted house thriller "Keyhole" from Entertainment One.Pic stars Jason Patric, Isabella Rossellini, and Udo Kier. "Keyhole," shot in black and whitened, opened in the Toronto Worldwide Film Festival. Monterey plans a domestic theatrical release early in the year.Patric shows a gangster and deadbeat father who returns home following a lengthy absence and starts a protracted journey through his decaying mausoleum of the house looking for his estranged wife, performed by Rossellini.Story, composed by George Toles and Maddin, is loosely according to Homer's"The Journey" and "The Poetics of Space," Gaston Bachelard's 1958 study from the mental impact created by a person's domestic environs.
